Father's Day!
/Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Nicaraguan Father's day fell on the 24th of June this month so we had a celebration with the church. The verse for the devotional in Isaiah speaks of a prophecy of the coming of Jesus long before his arrival. It speaks of Jesus as God and Father. We see that God as a Father will have dominion. So we taught them that they should also have dominion over their house and take responsibility for the spiritual welfare of the family. We see that God is called Wonderful or Marvelous showing the miracle nature of God and told them how God wanted to work miracles in their family as well. We taught them that they we’re not alone in their decisions because God was Counselor and could council them. We taught them that God was mighty, valiant, and powerful and He wanted them to be courageous for their families as well. They could fight the devil and he would flee as they walked in the Spirit and in the armour of God in Ephesians 6. We taught that God the Father would always be there for them.
Many of the kids and youth don’t have fathers or their fathers don’t live in their house and are far away. As Christ is head of the church, the father must be the spiritual leader of the household and without which the family will suffer much.
Pray for the kids and youth that don’t have father’s. Pray for the fathers that are part of our church that they would teach their kids about God.
